WGRZ Buffalo: Western New York's NBC Station

WGRZ is Buffalo's NBC station, reporting from the heart of Western New York. From downtown Buffalo out to the suburbs of Amherst and Cheektowaga, across the river to Niagara Falls, and down the shore of Lake Erie toward the Southtowns, the station keeps an eye on the news that shapes life in the region.

Weather is a way of life around here, and WGRZ knows it. Few markets track a forecast as closely as Buffalo does, where lake-effect snow can bury one neighborhood under several feet while leaving the next town over untouched, where a stretch of the Thruway can shut down in a whiteout, and where a long winter finally gives way to a green and golden summer along the water. Storm coverage carries real stakes when the snow starts to fly and the wind comes off the lake.

Beyond the forecast, viewers count on the station for breaking local news and the developing stories of the day, coverage of Buffalo city hall and Erie County government, and traffic on the routes that connect the metro to Niagara County and the airport. There are consumer and investigative segments that look out for local families, community and human-interest features that reflect the pride and resilience Buffalo is known for, and the hometown, college, and high-school sports that stir a city devoted to its Bills and its Sabres.

WGRZ streams with no subscription and no signup, live and free on NewsPlay. It is a simple way to keep up with Western New York whether you are watching from your own front porch or from far away.
