Data & account deletion

You can ask us to delete any NewsPlay data we hold about you, at any time. This page explains exactly what we hold and how to request its removal.

What NewsPlay holds

NewsPlay is operated by Northover Media Inc. The NewsPlay apps do not require an account and do not collect advertising identifiers, diagnostics, or analytics. The only data the apps process associated with your device is:

  • Approximate location, used only to surface relevant local channels (where permitted by your device)

Your saved favourites and channel order are stored on your device only, and are removed when you uninstall the app.

Request deletion

To have any data we hold deleted, contact us and we’ll take care of it:

  1. Email privacy@newsplays.com with the subject “Data deletion request”.
  2. Tell us which service you used (the NewsPlay app or newsplays.com) and, if helpful, your approximate location or any other detail that would let us identify data we may hold.
  3. We’ll reply to confirm completion within 30 days.
We action verified requests within 30 days.

What gets deleted

When you ask us to delete data we hold, we remove it from our systems. We may retain a limited amount of information where the law requires it — for example, server logs (from newsplays.com) kept for security and fraud-prevention obligations — and only for as long as needed for that purpose.
